Privacy

No advertising network, no third-party trackers, no fingerprinting, no cross-site profiling, and no selling or renting personal data. We do not store IP addresses against your activity.

• Account: your email address and, if you create one, your public profile name, handle, bio, links and location text.
• Activity you choose to take: votes, saved films, submissions, claims and reports.
• Viewing history: which film you watched, when, and how far you got — used for your own history page and for aggregate creator insights.
• Playback signals: start, milestone, completion and error events, tied to a pseudonymous session key generated in your browser, not to your identity.
• Payments: if you join Plus, our payment provider handles your card. We never see or store card numbers — only the subscription status, plan and period.

To let you resume a screening, to keep votes honest and one-per-person, to give filmmakers meaningful aggregate numbers about their own films, to run award cycles defensibly, and to notice when a film stops playing.

Creator insights are aggregate only and are withheld below a small event floor, so no filmmaker can identify an individual viewer from them.

• YouTube and Vimeo: films play in their players, so they receive a request from your browser and apply their own privacy policies and cookies.
• Our payment provider: processes membership payments.
• Our backend host: stores the database and authentication records.

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in, and browser local storage for an anonymous session key so a screening can resume without an account. No advertising or analytics cookies are set by us.

Account data is kept while your account exists. Playback events are kept in aggregate form. Deleting your account removes your profile, history, votes and saved films; submissions already accepted into the program may remain as catalog records, with the film credited as submitted, unless you also ask for the film to be withdrawn.

You can see and correct your profile from your account, export your viewing history, and request deletion. Depending on where you live you may also have rights of access, correction, portability, objection and erasure. Ask through the report form and we will respond within thirty days.

The festival is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, tell us and we will remove it.
