Submission Rules

• Short films of any genre, fiction or documentary, animation or experimental.
• Runtime between 30 seconds and 40 minutes.
• Already published as a public, embeddable film on YouTube or Vimeo — we link to your page, we never re-upload.
• Any completion year. There is no premiere requirement and no exclusivity.

Unlisted films are accepted where the provider still allows embedding; private films are not, because nobody could watch them.

• Trailers, teasers, showreels, music videos, or promotional and brand content.
• Feature films, episodes of a series, or fragments of a longer work.
• Films you do not have the rights to present, including uploads of someone else's work.
• Anything ruled out by the community guidelines.

When you submit, you attest that you own or control the rights to the film and to everything in it — music, footage, likenesses — sufficient for it to remain publicly viewable at the provider. If a rights dispute arises, the film comes out of the program while it is resolved.

You may submit up to ten films in any rolling thirty-day period. This is a workload limit for our programmers, not a paywall — submitting is free and Plus membership does not raise the allowance or improve your chances.

• Validation: we check the link, runtime, privacy state and that the player actually loads. A film that fails here comes back to you with the reason.
• Programming: a human watches and decides whether it fits the program. This is editorial and subjective.
• Outcome: accepted, rejected, or returned with changes requested. You can see the status any time under your account.

Accepted films enter the infinite queue and get a permanent film page with credits, a synopsis and structured data for sharing.

Programmers also add films they admire that were never submitted. These are labelled Staff Recommends, always link to the filmmaker’s own page, and are not eligible for cash awards unless the filmmaker claims the profile and authorises the entry. Any filmmaker can ask for a Staff Recommends entry to be removed, no questions asked.

Ask through the report form or make the film private at the provider. Either way it leaves the queue.
